The phrase was a propaganda poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II. It was intended as a "last case scenario" to be used only if the Nazis succeeded in invading Great Britain in order to "stiffen resolve". Two and a half million copies were printed, although the poster was only distribued in very limited numbers. It was only rediscovered in 2000 when it fell out of a book at a second hand book shop in England.
